Blackpool, the UK resort, upgraded its sea defences and extended its famous Promenade as part of major improvements to keep visitors and tourists coming to the town. Spectrum was called in to monitor the impact of vibration and noise from sheet piling. Part of the piling was very close to the South Pier, and monitoring was carried out to ensure vibration did not damage this famous landmark.

Vibration monitoring for Dyer & Butler Ltd during sheet piling as part of works to prevent water borne sand particles from undermining of the foundations of a rail bridge. Remote monitoring stations set up at the base of the rail bridge itself and also at an adjacent fishing lake in response to concerns over the effect on aquatic wildlife. Audio-visual alarm and automatic text message alerts were used as part of our monitoring package.
