Capitol Arts Centre Spectrum was appointed acoustic consultant on this refurbishment and expansion of an Arts Centre, at Horsham, UK. Working with LA Architects on a completely new image for the centre, the challenge was to reconcile simultaneous use of the theatre, 2 new cinemas, art gallery and the small performance studio. The photos show the new glass entrance area where noise levels had to be controlled by introducing absorption treatment, and the new small performance studio with its non-parallel sidewalls designed to provide a diffuse sounding acoustic free of echoes. |
