Surge Analysis Network of a Solution Mining application

Water is pumped underground to dissolve salts through 'solution mining' technology. Prior to this process starting, Spectrum Fluid Dynamics was asked to ensure that surge arising during pump operations would not damage the pipe network. Once the solution mining phase is complete, the underground space created is to be used as a strategic Gas Storage facility, storing up gas during the low demand summer months and releasing it into the National Transmission System during cold snaps in winter.
