HS2 – Spectrum provides noise study of upgraded water treatment works

30 June 2020 by Andrew Corkill, Director

As part of the HS2 construction mitigation measures, temporary additional plant is being installed at existing Affinity Water treatment plants at Amersham and Northmoor near Denham. Spectrum has been appointed by the JV main contractor Glan Agua Farrans (GAF) to carry out a noise study of the temporary new plant to ensure that it doesn’t disturb nearby residents. The plant is planned to operate 24 hours per day but will be removed when the 5-year programme for this phase of HS2 construction is complete.

Spectrum have undertaken noise modelling to establish the noise impact 360º around the sites using Predictor® noise propagation software, and have worked closely with both Affinity Water and also leading supplier of specialist water treatment equipment, Suez Water Technologies.

Spectrum is active in carrying out noise studies in the fields of water treatment, waste and recycling. Contact us to discuss the specific noise and vibration control aspects of your project.
